Description
Manufactured in 1965. Built on the "D" frame in a nickel plated finish with all standard Colt markings. Features a 6" ventilated rib barrel with full-length barrel underlug, white highlighted front ramp sight and rear adjustable notch sight. 60% engraved coverage in floral scroll, starburst and punch dot background. Engraving covers the side plates of the frame, skip flute of the cylinder, 4" of the barrel, and bottom of the trigger guard and grip. Six round fluted swing out cylinder. Matching serial number on the crane and crane cut. Serrated trigger and wide spur hammer with cross stitch. Stunning stag grip panels. Comes in an oak presentation case with royal blue velveteen lining. Colt Archive letter dates this Python being shipped to Continental Arms, originally with a 4" barrel, in December 1965. Continental Arms, located on Fifth Avenue in New York City, was a prestigious firearms supplier, known for catering to royalty and other famous clientele. CALIBER: .357 Mag. S/N: 48892E. Condition
Retains 98% finish with light handling marks. Grips are in great condition. Great bore and mechanics. Case shows a few faint scratches and dings.
