Manufactured in 1979, a Colt Custom Shop Signature Special Edition. Full size Colt 1911 ACE, chambered in .22LR, 5" barrel with blade front sight and rear adjustable notch. Polished blue and matte finish with gold etching on the slide. The left side of the slide is stamped "NATIONAL PARKS SPECIAL EDITION" and features the following Yellowstone highlights: Rocket, Grotto, Upper Geyser Basin, Lone Star, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Opal Terrace. The left rear of the slide features a bison behind the serrations. The right side is stamped "FIRST NATIONAL PARK YELLOWSTONE MAR 1, 1872" and "COLT ACE 22 LONG RIFLE HARTFORD, CT" featuring a moose, bear and geese among a waterfall river scene. Right rear side of the slide features a moose. Colt walnut checkered wood grip panels with gold tone Colt medallion. Includes factory 10 round magazine, stamped on the bottom "COLT .22L.R." on the base. Includes original box with the Colt Custom Shop neon label and a factory Colt red velveteen lined presentation case. Case has a brass plate on the lid with a Moose calling scene and is stamped "1 of 200/NATIONAL PARKS SPECIAL EDITION", and a Colt Custom coat of arms emblem inlaid in the bottom right corner. Retains 98% original custom finish throughout with faint handling wear. Appears to be unfired. Great bore and mechanics. Box does show handling wear. Case does show wear in the bottom right corner of the lid as well as a 2" crack.
