Description
Early model 1914. Features a 24" full length octagon barrel, standard blade front sight and rear factory adjustable two leaf sight. Top of the barrel stamped "Savage Arms Co Utica NY." Top of the barrel at the receiver is stamped "1914 22 S. L. & LR." Tubular magazine. Blued receiver with right hand take-down screw. Only stamping on the receiver is the serial number on the bottom. Top tang safety. Buttstock and forearm are straight grain walnut. Forend is a tapered "corn cob" design with 17 ribs. Buttstock is attached to screw in the pistol grip to the top tang. Buttstock is fitted with a metal buttplate. CALIBER: .22 S/L/LR. S/N: 12090. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
Condition
Barrel retains 70% original blue that is starting to plum at the receiver and muzzle. Various moderate handling dings throughout. Reloading tube has brown patina throughout. Receiver retains 40% original blue with the remaining being a brown patina. Takedown screw is unmarred. Buttstock and forend have approximately 50% original finish. Buttstock shows various dings and scratches. Areas of the receiver are becoming oil stained. Bottom of the pistol grip at the lower tang has a crack that extends 3" down the pistol grip. Buttplate overall has brown patina. Bore is dark with pitting. Good mechanics.
