Featured in this lot is an Afghan Ghazni hand knotted kilim rug mid-1900's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted natural wool construction that shows a hand knotted and hand made design with natural dyes and is extremely decorated. The decoration includes floral design with a double banded border and fringe on both sides of the rug with floral decoration in the center area of the rug set to a light grey field. Ghazni, historically known as Ghaznain or Ghazna also transliterated as Ghuznee, and anciently known as Alexandria in Opiana is a city in southeastern Afghanistan. This city is traditionally known as a central hub for trade and for its agriculture. The overall condition of this Afghan rug is good with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this Afghan rug are 72 1/2"L x 50 1/2"W.*
