BLUE, Ben (1901 – 1975). Ben Blue’s Personal Steamer Trunk Filled with His Personal Effects. Circa 1930s-40s. A Herkert & Meisel Trunk Co. wardrobe trunk, with various travel labels to the sides, outfitted with drawers and clothes hangers. FILLED WITH BLUE’S PERSONAL TRAVEL EFFECTS, including his tuxedo (with jacket by Frank Hoffer of Beverly Hills, trousers, vest, suspenders, and pocket square); (2) straw boater-style hats (one in box); (2) wooden canes; an overcoat; various ““BB” monogrammed shirts and collars; and other clothing items. Several other drawers are filled with personal items such as cufflinks, Blue’s American Federation of Actors card, a monogrammed leather wallet, family snapshots, business cards, a Gillette safety razor, travel papers, bound scripts from The Morey Amsterdam show, photos of other actors and performers, and more.
