7 Chinese Shoushan stone carved seals, masterfully carving with square, rectangles shaped handgrip atop cuboid slab. Shoushan stone is made up of lava and the minerals around it which are gradually re-congealed into a colored crystalline ore. Shoushan stone is the best and most valuable of all the various colored stones in China. Shoushan stone can be divided into four main categories, including the Tian Huang stone, Gaoshan stone, hibiscus stone, and Wenyang stone based on their production places. The stones used in carving are also known as agalmatolite and are mined in the Shoushan village in northern Fujian. Use of the stone for carving can be traced back as far as the Southern dynasties and have long been used to produce handicrafts and later on in the Ming dynasty seals. Energy workers believe that Shoushan Stone helps create balance between mind, body and spirit, fosters creativity and promotes harmony, clarity, peace and calm.
