The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Set of Three Chinese Qing Dynasty Blue and White Porcelains. Potted in high foot lidded bowl, lidded jar with dome lid finial bud, and tall cylindrical brush pot. All hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast blue fine color, depicted of imperial five claws dragon flying careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves, folk celebrating festival and salubrious mountain landscape. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark.
