The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Porcelain Cups. The porcelain potted with a shallow body like reverse hat, slight deep, thick and small, flaring rim with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the close mouth rim, raised on ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white color which contrast against famille rose color, depicted of continuous flowers bloom interspersed foliage, scrolling tendril, flying birds above swims duck. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark.
