The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Kangxi Blue and White Porcelain Cylinder Pot. Potted in small tank shape, cylinder body, thick potted, deep curvature, slight tall and gentle upward to wide straight short round opening lip, raised on round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of sampan boat sailing over peace Lishui river surround with tree, flowers bloom, rocky rock and mountain, all in salubrious landscape. Mountain is one of the eight trigrams in Feng Shui and Yi Jing. Of these Taishan is considered the most important and stones from the mountain were often placed in towns across China as a lucky charm.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years of Kangxi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
