Description

Title: Italian Alabaster Dresser Box c 1950

Size: 4” (10.2 cm) diameter x 3 ?” (8.3 cm) tall.

Description:A hand made round box made of alabaster that has been dyed a nice translucent green.

The box has a brass mount on lid and body mouth, connected with a pin hinge. The base is flat. A gold foil label on the base reads, “AT GENUINE ALABASTER MADE IN ITALY”.

MEASUREMENTS

4” (10.2 cm) diameter x 3 ?” (8.3 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 3.6 oz (550 g)

CONDITION

There is one hairline crack to the inside that is not visible on the outside. Otherwise, there are no cracks, chips, breaks or repairs. There is wear on the base from moving on a hard surface over the years. The hinge and lid brass mount has a little rust on the inside of the box. There is also some wear to the gold color on mounts on the inside from use.

A colorful useful box to add to your mid-century décor. The green just glows.
