Provenance
The portrait of Esther Bast shown depicting her seated in a rocking chair, inscribed and dated, “Esther Bast 1844,” l.c., retaining American Folk Art Gallery label verso, framed; the portrait of a lady shown depicting her on a veranda with castle and river landscape in the background, signed, “Edward Richards/ Newtown,” l.r., framed.
