The top drawing illustrates page 114 with the caption, "Carrying her lightweight board over her head, a surf bird makes her way toward the ocean." The lower illustration appears on page 113, with the caption, "A well-tanned surfer and his date paddle out to where the action is. "Most surfers," repeats Neiman,"are confidently blasé about finding surfmates, and Malibu regulars will say with a shrug, 'You name 'em, we've got 'em.'"
