Description

Late Ming Hotai or "Happy Buddha" with untouched patina and a provenance from the German Auction House Lempert's (lot and date written on inside--was purchased there in 1990). 16th/17thC. To find one of this size and condition with such a perfectly expressive face, untouched patina, quality of casting, and solid provenance is becoming extremely challenging, as there are so few that have everything right (and so many people who would love to have one). Note: the entire piece would have had the bright orange/gold color still evident on the back when it was new. This piece measures 8 inches tall.Domestic shipping is included, and international shipping is $50, including packing and insurance to anywhere in the world.
