Description
4 Chinese 17th Century Porcelain Cups & Saucers with matching designs of birds and flowers; probably from the Hatcher Cargo Sales missing labels. Height of cups 1 3/8 inches (3.5 cm.). Diameter of saucers 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm.). NOTE: The Hatcher Cargo was recovered from the wreck (sunk 1643-1646) of a Chinese junk in the South China seas port of Batavia (today Jakarta) by Captain Michael Hatcher in 1983 and sold through four sales at Christie's Amsterdam.
Condition
Age related wear with distinctive abraded surfaces from centuries long underwater submersion and small frits or flakes to outside edges.
