Antique Pole Screen With Needlework Panel

Item Details

Description

Antique early 19th century 58 1/2" tall pole screen with a period needlework panel depicting a type of bird of paradise in a floral setting. The needlework panel measures approximately 14" square . Item appears to be made of mahogany and there is one of the circular decorations to one corner of the frame which has been lost. Pole screen has brass fittings and the top element also made of brass and which is quite old, features a American Eagle but this may not be original to this piece as it appears to be the top from a parade Marshall's baton.
