The Cure Robert Smith Prototype Schecter Diamond Series Acoustic Electric Guitar and Case Obtained From Michael Aston Used in Studio W/Letter of Provenance - This Schecter Diamond Series acoustic electric guitar prototype was obtained from Michael Aston, the lead singer of the British rock band Gene Loves Jezebel. The guitar comes with a letter of provenance which states that it was acquired by Michael Aston from Michael Ciravolo, who is the guitar player for Gene Loves Jezebel and the President of Schecter Guitars. The letter of provenance states in part, "According to Michael Ciravolo, this guitar was a prototype sent to Robert Smith of The Cure to sample. Michael says that this guitar was used by Robert and then later sent back in exchange for another. In addition to this guitar being owned and played for a period by Robert Smith, it was used to record Gene Loves Jezebel's album 'Exploding Girls'." The guitar will come with the original Schecter guitar case. Robert Smith was known to play Schecter guitars and even had his own signature Schecter called UltraCure. Smith is also known to sells his personal guitars and donate the proceeds to various charities. In 2013 one of Robert Smith's Schecter guitars sold for over $32,000.
