Description: Huge oil-on-canvas painting by or after famed French artist Van Loo, who himself came from a famed lineage of Dutch painters. This piece also has a Sothebys and Christies label.

Measurements:Frame: 75.5 in H x 58.5 in W x 4.5 in D; Artwork: 63.5 in H x 50.5 in W

Condition:Conservation performed in 1975 as indicated on back of canvas, see photos, and which may have been this piece’s second conservation. Craquelure present, especially on upper left corner, please see photos. Overall, very good, especially given age and size.

Hallmarks:Van Loo placard on front base of frame.

Provenance:From the estate of 1952 Helsinki Olympian Jaime Annexy Fajardo of Puerto Rico and his wife Pan-American games tennis star Maria Annexy. The Annexy’s both inherited many fine antiques and were themselves avid collectors in the Continental taste, settling in an expensive landmark home overlooking Spring Bayou in Tarpon Spring, FL, the site of the famous, annual Greek Orthodox Epiphany Cross-Diving festival.
