An Empire secretary bookcase in mahogany, upper case with a large molded cornice, over two glass pane doors with shaped mullions, lower case with hidden fold out writing surface with interior pigeon holes and central drawer, over a full length ogee molded drawer and two paneled cabinet doors, flanked by shaped stiles, rising on carved scrolled feet; ht. 93, wd. 44.5, dp. 23 inches. Overall good condition. Very good condition for age. Minor slitting to veneers with age and use. Minor old repairs throughout with age. All original.
