These desktop figural cigar lighters came in many forms, this example being that of a late 19th century slave, as evidenced by the collar around his neck. It is mounted on an oversized claw foot base, with kerosene compartment in the back of his head and cigar in the front, which would provide a perpetual flame for lighting your cigar.
