Item Details

Description

Edward Winsor Kemble (American, 1861-1933). Watercolor on paper painting titled "An Alarm of Fire - We Go" depicting numerous firefighters gearing up to take their horse-drawn wagon to a fire, ca. late 19th early 20th century. Pencil signed along the lower left; titled along the lower center; illegibly marked along the lower right. There is an illegible inscription along the lower center of the image.
Height: 20 1/2 in x width: 30 1/2 in.

Condition

The colors are bold and bright. The sheet is toned. There are several small tears along the extreme edges. Creases and handling marks throughout. Along the verso there are four pieces of framer's tape affixed to the upper edge. The work is not framed.
