Description
Large lot of United States Navy ribbons, buttons, shoulder boards and more. All was purchased as one collection, with the majority believed to belong to Captain W.T. Lineberry of the United States Navy. Captain Lineberry was a medic in Guam at the beginning of WWII. Three days after Pearl Harbor, Guam fell to Japan. Lineberry and several of his fellow soldiers were held as prisoners of war for three years, nine months, being moved three different times. He was officially liberated eight days after the end of WWII was declared. Captain Lineberry served from WWII, retiring in 1976. In this lot, you will get everything shown here which includes all of the ribbons which are as follows: two Gallantry Cross Ribbons, two Navy Commendations, three National Defense Service, American Campaign, WWII Victory, two Vietnam Service and four WWII Occupation Navy. There are also sterling and gold filled, one pin set that isn't Lineberry's is a Navy Nurse set which is the leaf with acorn center.
Condition
All pieces are in excellent display condition. Some of the ribbons have holes in the center where pins were removed.
