Ferenc Acs (1876-1949) Hungarian, Oil on Board. Titled: ?Floral Still Life? Signed along bottom. Beautiful blue vase with painted flowers holds a bouquet of incredible peony?s in full bloom. Overall Size: 30 3/8 x 24 3/8 in. Sight Size: 24 1/2 x 18 1/4 in. Thickness: 2 1/2 in. #1721 Ferenc Acs began his studies at the Model Drawing School in Budapest under Bertalan Szekely. Acs enrolled in Simon Hollosy?s private school in Munich, then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts with masters Franz Lenbach and Ludwig von Herterich. During his stay in Munich, from 1897, he spent several summers at the artist colony in Nagybanya. He finished his studies in 1906 as a member of the Lotz master school. In 1906, he settled in Cluj, where he also established a private school. From 1902, he regularly participated in exhibitions in Hungary and abroad. In 1911, he organized the first impressionist exhibition in what is Romania. His work is in the Hungarian National Gallery, as well as museums in Romania.
