The realism of her work is stunning. She had a talent for allowing light to show through differing depths of water. She is regarded as one of the top two painters of seascapes in the world. It is so recognizable as are all Nelson paintings for the translucent quality of the waves, which seem to jump up and catch the suns glow. The foam also has a unique character in her paintings and looks so realistic. You can almost see them moving.
