America, 19th century. A lot of various documents, tax records and leases belonging to Henry and Mary Hanna. Deeds include The Furneaux Hoefle. and John Hauck Brewing Companies, dating to 1903.
John Hauck (1829 – 1896) was a German-born American brewer and bank president. He was also an executive of the Cincinnati Red Stockings team in the mid 1800s until 1880. His former residence in Cincinnati is now the offices of Cincinnati Preservation Association. n 1863, Hauck created his own lager brewery, originally named Hauck & Windisch and later the John Hauck Brewing Company.
Henry Hanna (1812-1905) was a notable Cincinnati industrialist, philanthropist, and financier. He owned many of the most valuable business blocks in the city, was president of the Little Miami Railroad Company and Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company, and funded construction of The University of Cincinnati’s Hanna Hall.
Daughter of the Cincinnati industrialist and philanthropist, Henry Hanna, Mary was an art collector, patron and philanthropist. Hanna gifted and left a significant portion of her art collection to the Cincinnati Art Museum and aided in the financing of the Hanna Wing.
