Description
This Is A Very Early Muromachi Period Japanese Ken Sword.. The Double Edge Measures 9 Inches To The Uniquely Shaped Boars Eye Habaki. Although Out Of Polish With Overall Dark Age Staining, There Is No Active Rust Or Pitting And A Shadow Of A Straight, Temper Line Can Be Seen In Proper Lighting. The Blade Is Uniquely Tapered Beginning With A Thin Width, At Its Tip Which Gradually Wides Towards The Habaki. The Tang Is Unsigned With A Very Dark Patina. It Also Has A Rarely Seen Shape Found Only In Some Early Swords. The Hilt Is Wood With Both Copper And Iron Mounts Lacquered Over In Black. The Scabbard Has A Black Lacquer Insert With White Shell, Bone Or Another Unknown Material.
