Item Details
Description
Western Europe / United States, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A pair of antique candelabra garniture pieces upon black slate bases with brass stems and sockets. The pair have ornate rococo and baroque inspired scrolling flourishes with stylized dragon heads. Some wear from previous use, but good condition and could be restored with some gilding wax. Size: 7" Diameter x 19" H (17.8 cm x 48.3 cm)

Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010

Condition
Abrasions, nicks, and fading to gilt surfaces. Bending to the stems and drip pan edges. Small chips to marble bases. Patina and oxidation to interior of the sockets and exterior brass from use.
