AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A LADY WITH VIRGINIA ASSOCIATION, oil on canvas, depicts a bust-length portrait of a woman in a lace bonnet, historically identified as Mrs. Elizabeth Harris Reed, housed in a 20th century frame which retains the label for Richmond Art Co. to verso. Mid 19th century. 28" x 24" sight, 33" x 29" OA.
Catalogue Note: Several women with the same name and general age/profile are found living in central Virginia in the mid 19th century.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
Condition
Excellent restored condition having been relined and conserved.
