This vintage late 19th century desk accessory is designed as an inkwell with an adjustable letter holder attachment. The hand carved burl wood platform is decorated with cut out pen rests that surround its rectangular frame. This wood platform supports a small cube shape glass inkwell with a sterling lid cover & a moveable bent iron letter holder mounted upon a round silver disc on a raised squatty column. The disc is stamped "ROEDER'S" "D.R." & "PATENT".9 1/8" tall X 7 1/8" long X 5 1/8" wide
