Description
LOT of (4) artist dolls. Pair of "Queen Victorian" dolls. Doll 1) 15" by artist Muriel Atkins Bruyere, SC. Charter member of NIADA. It came from the Zelda Cushner Collection Auction, 2007. Condition: age loss on clothing. Doll 2) 19" by artist Evelyn Green, Brewster, ME. Doll 3) 19" and is unmarked. It is similar in style to the style of artist Lewis Sorensen, Charter member of NIADA. It has a wax head and hands and may also be portraying "Queen Victoria". Condition: (1) finger broken. Doll 4) Is representing "Elizabeth Bas", 1641, artist Evelyn Green, Brewster, ME. Provenance: this doll was originally the property of the Strong Museum. It was sold to benefit the Collection Fund. This doll was based on the painting of Elizabeth Bas, 70, by Rembrandt. Beautifully dressed in typical Dutch clothing of the period. She is sitting on a wooden ladder back chair. Condition: minor age discoloration on clothing. This lot is being sold AS IS.
