Description
Pair of unmarked China shoulder head dolls made by the Conta & Boehme Porcelain Factory, late 1860's. Both have molded black hair, painted blue eyes, pierced ears. They both have cloth bodies and are dressed in all antique clothing. Doll 1) 15" "Countess Dagmar" hair style with curls on forehead, headband holding a large cluster of curls. Rosey cheeks. China lower arms. Dressed in wool print dress (with added sleeves), cotton teddy, petticoat, pantaloons. Silk stockings, no shoes. Doll 2) 16 1/2" with center part, hair style, rows of waves on each side of head. Hair is pulled back into a cluster of curls on the back. Pale cheek coloring. White leather lower arms with individual fingers. Dressed in ivory silk bodice with an overlay of lace netting and turquoise silk ribbon trim. Fine cotton over skirt, also decorated over a silk under skirt. Cotton pantaloons, stockings. Ivory oilcloth heeled shoes. Overall condition on both: both shoulder heads have been restored. years ago. Age loss, discoloration on clothing. This lot is being sold AS IS.
