West Africa, Liberia or Ivory Coast, Dan / Bassa, ca. mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden face mask of stylized form with protruding brow, pierced eyes, and plaited coiffure. The light brown patina has formed naturally and looks splendid. Size: 2.75" L x 5.1" W x 8.5" H (7 cm x 13 cm x 21.6 cm)
