Ancient Greek Attic, Black-figure amphora c.580–550 BC. Size 13 1/2 inches high, 9 1/2 inches wide (34 cm high). type 2, Rare Greek Attic black-figure pottery footed amphora with twin handles with flat lip. decorated with Warrior farewell. A: In the center female figure accompanied by two attendants facing a nude figure of a youth, behind a standing man. B: Depiction of three warriors striding to the left, equipped with helmet, shield and lance, facing a standing bearded man. Frieze of ivy leaves above the picture field. Provenance: Ex: Schuler Auction Zurich, Switzerland lot 1820 Jan 7 2024 Ex; Swiss private collection. - Acquired at Schuler Auktionen, A139 (December 2015), lot 1019. - Eastern Swiss family ownership since 1976.
