Bertrand Andrieu Commemorative Bronze Cliche, Medal c1800. Arrivee du Roi a Paris Le 6 Octobre 1789, No.2; In glazed brass frame. Circular bale for hanging. On reverse, there are impressed words, but indistinct. King Louis XVI is depicted entering Paris. His carriage is directly beneath the statue of his father Louis XV, in the square named after him at the time. On 5 October the king had been dragged from his palace at Versailles. He was henceforth required to live in the city, in the now demolished Tuileries Palace. Approx.

Medal in very good apparent condition, not removed from frame, which appears to be attached to the medal - not entirely certain if the reverse is part of the medal or an additional back piece. The back has wear, oxidation and holes. Frame has oxidation, dings.
