Description
John J. Audubon (1785-1851) color lithograph for an exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC in 1993. The underlying piece used for the poster is titled Snowy Heron or White Egret, Plate 242. This original exhibition poster was produced on heavy stock 300 gsm, museum paper. With frame, it measures 35 inches x 43 inches. It is matted and framed under glass in an ornate, gold tone frame. It was produced in 1993, under the auspices of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Art. This piece was acquired from the estate of an ex-employee of the National Gallery in Washington, DC. This piece was in brand new condition, found untouched for 30 years in her house. , 35IN x 43IN (89cm x 109cm), LOT REF #23-1062
