Description
OSCAR ERICKSON (1883 - 1968) "ILLINOIS LANDSCAPE" Oil on Board, Signed lower left, measures (9 x 12) inches. Oscar Erickson was born in Milwaukee, WI in 1883. He studied at the John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago. He participated in many group exhibitions at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, the Hoosier Salon (from 1927-1942), and the Illinois State Museum. Erickson was also a charter member of the Brown County Art Gallery Association in Indianapolis. He was active in this group from 1926 to 1951.
