Description
Ancient coin cabinet (cabinet), 1600s, Neapolitan. Valuable and rare piece of furniture, made with an ebony structure, 9 drawers and 15 tiles on a silver plate, a layer of shellac and ink drawings depicting scenes of country life. Each frame has a small work of art inside and is protected by very fine glass, also from the 17th century. The works within each panel are representations of the engraver Cornelis Bloemaert II (1603-1692). Signed inside "HB" probably Hendrick Bloemaert, Cornelis' father. Structure, back and decorations are original, natural signs of aging are highlighted which do not affect the value of the furniture. Dimensions: 111x32 cm, height 65 cm
