A pair of matching Japanese vases featuring the globular body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall slender neck with flaring rim, decorated in variously coloured cloisonne enamels, depicting a flying phoenix on a deep cobalt blue ground. Both are marked: CJ-1, to the bottom. Dated circa the late 19th century, Meiji period, 1868 to 1912.
Dimensions: Size: 5 1/2 wide x 10 in tall . All measurements are approximate.

Good antique condition. Signs of age and wear.
