The first paper, "On the Cause of the Formation of Meanders in the Courses of Rivers," discusses why the erosion of rivers tends to take place on the right bank in the northern hemisphere and on the left on the southern. The second paper is on the determination of chemical reaction velocities in partly dissociated gases by using sound propagation. They also have the publication dates neatly inked at the top.
