Baron Carlo Marochetti (French, 1805–1867), a bronze equestrian sculpture of Emmanuel Philibert, Grand Duke of Savoy from 1553 to 1580, remembered for the recovery of the Savoyard state following the Battle of St. Quentin (1557), and for moving its capital to Turin. Depicted wearing full armor with the visor of his helmet up and drawing his sword in front of his face, riding a prancing horse. Signed Marochetti to the base. Circa the mid-19th century.
