Offered here for your consideration is a an original artwork by award winning artist, Peterson Yazzie. Peterson Yazzie is a contemporary Navajo artist from Greasewood Springs, AZ. He was born in 1979 and graduated high school in 1997, which is where he discovered his passion for art. When his high school graduation came around Peterson was awarded multiple scholarships to several different colleges, which made him realize he had a talent for art and led him to give it a try. He ended up attending the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he received his Associates and Bachelors of Fine Arts. He furthered his education with a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2008. Yazzie has been awarded at several art shows such as; SWAIA, Heard Museum, Arizona State Museum, Museum of Northern Arizona and many more. Additionally, he has also illustrated the children’s book titled “The Hogan that Great Grandfather Built” with Salina Bookshelf. He quotes that the Navajo culture is the foundation of his art work, which is seen in this lovely painting of his. This masterpiece is rendered in vibrant and rich colors.
