Offered here for your consideration is an antique Deer Lodge Horsehair quirt. This quirt is woven in colorful designs to be eye catching. Deer Lodge Montana Prison's horsehair braiding program was one of the best known and popular inmate programs of its kind. Frank Conley, long time warden at Deer Lodge, created various programs in order to keep inmates busy as he believed it would keep them out of trouble. Consider adding this horse hair quirt from that program to your collection by bidding now!
MAKER: Unknown inmate.
APPROX AGE: Antique (meaning made prior to the 1930s).
SIZE: 29 inches long.
CONDITION: Average for its age, normal wear and minor imperfections expected and the top-knot is missing off the end of the handle. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
HANDLING: There will be an $8 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot.
