American School (early 20th century), Three Signed Revivalist Portrait Miniatures

first quarter 20th century, watercolor on , the first two signed by C. Bernard Pereira (American, late19th-20th century), one depicting a young boy with arms folded and seated before a lush landscape (locket 4 1/4 x 3 in., sight size 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 in.), the second of a young girl wearing a fancy hat and white party dress (locket 4 x 3 in., sight size 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 in.); the third signed by C.S. Wiltschek (1876-1944), depicting a woman wearing pearls seated in a lush landscape (locket 4 1/2 x 3 in., sight size 3 1/4 x 2 3/8 in.). All presented behind glass in similar brass lockets.
Carl Siegfried Wiltschek was a well known portrait artist and art dealer working in New York in the early 20th century. Portraits by Wiltschek of James B. Duke and Benjamin Newton Duke hang in Lilly Library at Duke University.
Tag accompanying young boy and woman indicates that the works came from an estate in Bath, Maine with ties to the shipping industry.
