India, late 19th-early 20th century, carved wooden string instrument with bone mounts and inlays, comprised of gourd form resonator or "Kudam," brass fretboard terminating in a carved dragon form Yari with Sarrokai bell form rest, named after the Hindu goddess, Saraswati, who is often depicted atop a swan playing this instrument of choice.
