After Auguste Rodin (French, 1840-1917) painted plaster sculpture after the 1890 original cast by Alexis Rudier, called "The Morhardt Torso" as it was possibly made for the Swiss journalist Mathias Morhardt, raised on carved conforming wood base. Provenance: From the Collection of renowned architect and designer Thierry Despont. [Overall: 9 1/4" H x 4 1/4" W x 4 1/4" D]. In distressed condition with scattered paint spots and losses to finish; scuffs and marks to base.
