8x10 B&W glossy vintage photograph signed "To Jim Wiggins Sincerely your friend, R.C. Gorman 1980" in black felt tip ink. Very minor wear, otherwise, excellent.(1931-2005) R.C. Gorman was a Native American artist of the Navajo Nation. Referred to as "the Picasso of American Indian artists" by The New York Times, his paintings are primarily of Native American women and characterized by fluid forms and vibrant colors, though he also worked in sculpture, ceramics, and stone lithography. He was also an avid lover of cuisine, authoring four cookbooks, (with accompanying drawings) called Nudes and Food.This lot came from the Jim Wiggins collection we purchased in July 2022. Jim Wiggins accumulated the most unique and valuable autograph collection over a period of 70-plus years.
