A Russian silver stirrup cup in the form of a fox, crafted by Nichols and Plinke in St. Petersburg during the late 19th century. This item is exceptionally rare and exquisitely made.
HALLMARKS: silver marked '84' standard, initials 'PK' in Cyrillic for Robert Kohun, who was mostly famous as a leading master of Imperial Court suppliers "NIKOLS AND PLINKE TRADE HOUSE", and 'NP' for Nikols an Plinke trade house, Imperial silver and porcelain factory.

Today, prices have significantly increased compared to those of 5-10 years ago.
WARRANTY: The buyer has 5 days to inspect items for originality, valued at up to $5,000, and 10 days for items valued at $5,000 or more. Items can be returned to the seller for a refund; please refer to the Terms for more details.

STIRRUP CUP: A stirrup cup is a "parting cup" given to guests, especially when they are leaving and have their feet in the stirrups. It is also the traditional drink (usually port or sherry) served at the meet, prior to a traditional foxhunt. The term can describe the cup that such a drink is served in. A lead-glazed earthenware stirrup cup manufactured in Burslem, Staffordshire, c. 1780. The vessel is mentioned in the poem "The Stirrup-Cup" by the nineteenth-century American poet, Sidney Lanier, and in the traditional Scottish song "The Parting Glass".
