Description
**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 22nd Dynasty, ca. 1069 to 720 BCE. A beautiful and sizable example of an ushabti that is hand-carved from yellowed limestone. The figure presents standing in mummiform - with fused legs and arms crossed atop the chest - while a tripartite wig rests atop the pate with lappets draped atop the chest. Almond eyes, a petite nose, tapered cheeks, and delicate lips define the stylized countenance, and remains of black, white, and red-orange pigment are visible mostly across the obverse. A rare funerary figure at this size! Size: 2.5" L x 3.5" W x 9.9" H (6.4 cm x 8.9 cm x 25.1 cm); 10.875" H (27.6 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Losses to feet as shown. Abrasions and chips in scattered areas, with softening to some finer details, and fading to pigment remains, otherwise in great condition. Nice size and form given the age.
