The infant Jesus, nestled in the manger atop a white cloth, radiates brilliantly amidst the darkness, symbolizing Christ's proclamation, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12), and "And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not taken hold of it" (John 1:5). The birth scene is meticulously symmetrical, with the manger at its heart, flanked by Mary in reverent adoration on the left and St. Joseph, hands raised in awe, on the right. Two cherubs offer their worship from behind the crib, while shepherds emerge from the shadows to witness the miraculous event on both sides. The backdrop of the stable ruins frames a vista of the landscape, where the Annunciation to the shepherds unfolds.
