L’esemplare presenta le tavole incollate l’una all’altra sul verso.Rara imponente edizione originale, copia di presentazione che si differisce dalle successive tirature per la presenza di un unico ritratto invece che tre e la bordura nelle incisioni. Le tavole sono acquerellate con bella mano tanto da apparire spesso disegni originali più che incisioni. “La produzione di questi 5 grandi volumi in folio deve essere considerata una delle più notevoli iniziative editoriali mai intraprese a Firenze. Cominciata nel 1767 e completata 10 anni dopo, fu l’opera più imponente, la meglio incisa e con i colori più vividi rispetto a tutte le precedenti opere sugli uccelli. Rare impressive first edition, presentation copy which differs from subsequent editions due to the presence of a single portrait instead of three and the border in the engravings.
