Loi Relative aux Artistes dont les ouvrages ont été exposés cette année au Sallon du Louvre… Paris, le 7 Décembre 1791. Paris, Imprimerie Royale, 17914to. 248x196 mm. Pagine 4. Nell’ultima pagina sigillo rosso reale. Buono stato di conservazione. Rara placchetta, importante fonte di storia dell’arte. Questa esposizione del 1791, denominata “Salon de la liberté”, aperta a tutti gli artisti viventi e che pose fine al privilegio che permetteva ai soli membri dell’Accademia di esporre, vide il trionfo di Jacques-Louis David, che presentò tre quadri, fra i quali il celebre “Brutus”. Nell’ultima pagina è impresso il sigillo rotondo rosso reale, utilizzato a partire dal febbraio 1790: la Costituzione del 1791 prescrive di imprimerlo nelle leggi dello Stato. Nella corona porta l’iscrizione: «Louis XVI par la grâce de Dieu et par la loy constitutionnelle de l'État Roy des François».

Rare booklet, important source of art history. This exposition of 1791, called “Salon de la liberté”, opened to all the living artists and ended the privilege that allowed only members of the Academy to exhibit, saw the triumph of Jacques-Louis David, who presented three paintings, including the famous "Brutus".The last page bears the royal red round seal, used starting from February 1790: the Constitution of 1791 prescribes to stamp it in the laws of the State. In the crown bears the inscription: «Louis XVI par la grâce de Dieu et par la loy constitutionnelle de l'État Roy des François».
